What Is Electrocautery Lesion Removal?
Electrocautery uses a precisely controlled electrical current to safely burn off benign skin lesions at the surface level. The technique is fast, targeted, and leaves minimal scarring when performed correctly. Most lesions are treated in a single visit, with little to no downtime required afterward.
Because the treatment uses heat to simultaneously remove the lesion and seal the surrounding tissue, there is typically very little bleeding and a low risk of infection — making it one of the most efficient in-office removal methods available.
